Moldovan politicians to undergo intelligence clearing before elections

A new bill requiring all Moldovan politicians to be cleared by the country’s intelligence services before running for office, has been approved in a first round of voting by the country’s communist-dominated parliament. The bill was proposed earlier this year by the governing Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova, led by Vladimir Voronin. The government has argued that, if enacted, the proposed bill “will help fight corruption and prevent people who are dangerous to the country from being elected”. Opposition parties describe the proposed legislation, which will allow the Information and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova to screen all political candidates as well as all civil servants, as “a new attempt by the communists to purge adversaries” in the political and civil service establishments. Moldova is the only former Soviet republic currently to be governed by a democratically elected communist party. [IA]

So where are we when we seek to understand the background to this issue? Let us recall the Ukrainian role in Kiev’s version of the Reichstag Fire just a few years ago when Chisinau’s official buildings were afire. Poland, the Ukrainian Right and Israel have sought to bog America down in an anti-Russian position while Neocons in the US advocated the “Noodleman Plan” of expanding NATO disguised as the EU as close to Moscow as possible, one pseudo-republic at a time. But Americans are fed up with being dragged into war in the Middle East– imposing a Shia religious Govt on secular Iraq and now pressed to impose a Sunni religious Govt on Syria to replace its secular Assad Regime. All this is to keep the US militarily busy in the Middle East so that it doesn’t shift its attention to the critical Asian security crisis it must deal with. Israel wants American support in order to force the Palestinians to live in the clouds instead of a two-states solution and Saudi Arabia wants the US to support its Wahhabi Sunni engulfment of the Middle East. And Poland and the current Kiev regime want American military involvement through NATO in de-Russification of Eastern Europe. Romania–at least under Basescu and Ponta wanted to reabsorb Moldova while the ex-PM of Georgia, Shakasvilli– now a Ukrainian official, with Israeli support– wanted a NATO encirclement of Russia while it too nibbles at the Russian frontier. Meanwhile, for most Moldovans, relations with the West has meant total bankruptcy as a suspected Israeli oligarch living in Moldova absconded with the national treasury during the time of EU ascendency in Chisinau.
If anything, Moldovans are desperate not to follow Ukraine into bloody chaos now that their treasury has been empties. As to the EU, more and more, the US is seen as a witless pawn of the Neocon double loyalty that will screw East Europe, with them as the first to fall into the inferno, into a useless, pointless and hopeless anti-Russia position. One should consider that, though bogged down with the burden of the PIGS, the EU was not up to integrating East Euro nations that had not gone through the European integration which had standardized the industry and quality controls of NATO members. The East Europeans languished in an African backwardness from half a century of Soviet domination. The idea of integrating East Europe into the EU was assumed will be balanced by Russian integration into the EU notion of “Europe from the Atlantic to the Urals and beyond.” But, bullied by Clinton and Bush Administrations’ reckless domestic political and ideological interests, the EU gave in and accepted parasitic East European regimes not in any way ready for prime time. Poland, fishing in troubled waters, despite its political instability has served as the pyromaniac of Europe, along with Israel, which seeks to disable in any way possible Russian support of the Syrian Govt. and American extrication from the Middle East in order to deal more convincingly with its interests in Asia by blocking Chinese hegemonic temptations towards the Eastern Hemisphere. Moldovans cannot forget past interventions by Polish, Israeli and Ukrainian Maydan provoked crises and in no way want to go from bankruptcy to bloodbath like the one the current Kiev oligarchs have imposed on Ukraine. And so, in conclusion, Chisinau wants a clean and clear beneficial relation with BOTH Russia and the EU, certainly not a reabsorption into a wreck of a Romania Mare!
Vladimir Simes warned of a world that looks a like as it did just before WWI, a catastrophe into which peripheral insignificant countries sparked a global conflagration. Now it is Poland, Israel and the Kiev regime ruling Ukraine that hope to drag the US and Russia into the bloody mess that England and Germany were dragged into by no reason nations. As best as I can gather, most Moldovans look with horror as the Ukrainian regime in Kiev and the Warsaw Govt try to push Chisinau into becoming the spark that causes a world war. No one in Moldova wants it and few in Romania want reunion at that price. The arsonists are on the periphery trying for a 1, 2, 3…WWII through the “Noodleman Plan” and Neocon machinations in Wash DC. Cavaliuc’s detention in Kiev for extra scrutiny a short time ago may give him personal cause to spark the deadly flame on “Russification suppression” but I am sure that neither he nor his masters see anything good out of this canard. Moldovans are too busy trying to catch the crooks that robbed them blind to get involved in provocative moves and prefer balanced economic ties with the EU and Russia (especially now that Winter is coming and without gas from Russia it can become a deadly freeze) that revive their economic prospects rather than being– ONCE AGAIN– dragged into the Polish, Ukrainian and Israeli machinations designed to serve the interests of nations other than their own.
