  • US-Turkey intel sharing continues despite Gaza clash. Turkey and the United States are continuing intelligence sharing, aimed against Kurdish PKK separatists. This despite the two countries’ differences on Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip, according to General Fahri Kir, chief of Turkey’s Homeland Security Department of General Staff.
  • Norwegians sentenced for spying in Congo request clemency. Norwegians Tjostolv Moland and Joshua French, who have been sentenced to death in the Congo for espionage and murdering a local man, have requested clemency from Congolese President Joseph Kabila.
  • CIA unusually public over need for Arabic, Farsi speakers. The CIA has been trying to hire more people who are fluent in languages spoken in Iran, Afghanistan and Iraq. PRI Marketplace‘s Jeff Tyler explains that the usually secretive agency is trying a more open approach this time.
